ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to an exciting development in freight forwarding, DG Air has created a new and crucial role, to move the business forward. As an experienced Operations Manager of Project Cargo, you will be required to complete end-to-end logistics of air and sea project cargo, perform day-to-day duties (listed below), and communicate your broad knowledge of the freight forwarding industry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use EDI Cargowise software to complete AWB / SWB
- Preparation of relevant documentation and booking consignments with appropriate airlines/shipping lines / co-loaders;
- Organise for goods to be packed and transported to either Airports/trucking yards/wharf
- Liaising with clients/customers, via phone, face-to-face, and email, this will include airlines, Shipping lines, government services, and trucking companies;
- Pre-alert customers and agents of freights whereabouts and POD'S as required;
- Ensuring the client's freight arrives at the final destination within the required timeframes;
- Keep up-to-date with the industry changes and trends that follow;
- Providing an outstanding level of Customer Service to our clients;
- Work with interstate offices
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Certificates/Qualifications
- International Freight Forwarding Qualification
- Cargowise Experience / Qualifications
- Dangerous Goods Certificate (Air, Sea)
Required
- Proven history in the International freight forwarding industry
- Familiar with all facets of export air operations
- Cargowise EDI software knowledge
Highly desired
- Adaptability, as the role can and will grow and develop
- Superior communication skills; written and verbal
- Good knowledge of invoicing and quoting jobs and processing debtor costs;
- Lodging export customs declarations;
- Strong negotiation skills when working with airlines and transport companies on rates and trying to achieve the best rate possible;
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office software, in particular, Excel
