Australian Compliance Management is an Australian based company that specialises in emergency planning and fire compliance. We were created in 2018, when a gap was identified within the market to provide clients with bespoke quality emergency response procedures. We aim to build relationships with clients so that we are an extension of their team rather than a typical subcontractor, and to help our clients prepare for emergencies we hope never happen. Our primary clientele is the childcare industry; however, we also work in many other industries such as aged care, manufacturing, and disability services. The diversity of our scope will help you develop broad knowledge across many industries and to understand their compliance requirements.
We are currently seeking to employ a full-time Operations Manager to help manage the day-to-day aspects of the business, and support the company in its natural growth. The position will suit someone with strong attention to detail, great organisation skills, who enjoys client interaction, and gets excited about keeping people safe. This role is based in our head office in Brisbane, but there will also be some expected travel involved both intra and interstate when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the General Manager
- Develop a strong understanding of our industries and works to utilise in your role
- Oversee the overall operations of the team in its core function
- Ensure accurate and timely production of works from the team for the client
- Work on improving efficiency, productivity and employee satisfaction
- Take ownership and drive improvement of the ACM standard
- Resource and Asset management using workload forecasting
- System management and organisation
- Quality improvement of the company
- Interacting with key stakeholders
Essential skills required:
- Proven experience in an operations role
- Demonstrable ability to lead and develop a high-performing team
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skill
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards in Australia
- Ability to meet deadlines when projects occur
Preferred but not essential skills:
- Business development experience
- Childcare compliance experience
- Fire industry knowledge
What you will learn:
- How to use our software and tools
- Become familiar with Australian Standards AS3745-2010 or similar building codes as well as the BFSR-2008 (QLD Legislation)
- Broad knowledge across multiple industry types e.g. childcare, manufacturing
