ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Operations Supervisor based at out Cairns Depot - lead our team of waste collection professionals to effectively manage daily operational goals. 

The role is hands-on with consistent engagement of our driving teams to achieve the desired outcomes on safety, productivity, and process compliance. 

You will be working with a safe, modern and reliable fleet, serviced and maintained in our on-site workshops.

We are an essential services industry, offering stability to employees and reliability to our customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the management and lead a team of 20+ operational staff in Cairns.
• Aid the Cairns Contracts Manager on a day-to-day basis.
• Regular driving / collections responsibilities.
• Establish and manage relations with customers, team members and others as required.
• Mentor, train and regularly evaluate your team.
• Comply with laws, regulations and requirements including OH&S with an understanding of return-to-work processes.
• Identify enhancement opportunities and suggest solutions for improvement.

ABOUT YOU

• Current HR (Heavy Rigid) Licence
• Experience in transport, logistics or service industry highly regarded but not essential
• Well-developed people with solid time management skills
• KPI focused with the ability to perform under pressure
• Be able to provide up to date QLD Roads Driving Records at interview stage
• Able to successfully satisfy a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing
• Proven leadership skills
• Significant hands-on experience in an operations orientated role
• Track record of developing and driving continuous improvement
• Experience with heavy vehicle operations and an understanding of general truck maintenance responsibilities
