Outside Sales Engineer

Pacific Controls has been providing solutions to process control industries for over 35 years with operations in Queensland, New South Wales, Papua New Guinea, The Solomon Islands and New Caledonia.

As we continue to grow our team, we are seeking an Outside Sales Engineer to be based in our Brisbane office. The primary responsibility of this role will be to expand and grow the Pressure Management Business through identifying, promoting and applying growth sales strategies throughout Pacific Controls accountable territory.

The Outside Sales Engineer is responsible to meet or exceed the assigned sales bookings targets through planning and managing their sales activities in consultation with the Sales Manager or as defined by Senior Management for the allocated territory.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Achieve agreed-upon performance goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by Pacific Controls Management, encompassing orders, sales, and strategic growth targets.
• Leverage existing, and develop new relationships with key, executive decision-makers to successfully position Pacific Control as a preferred Control Automation Solutions provider through our Pressure Management product portfolio and maintenance execution capabilities.
• Lead the sales activities and POR forecasting and reporting for Pressure Management product portfolio.
• Participate, understand, and lead Emerson PRM’s strategic initiatives rollout within Pacific Controls.
• Extend and develop Pacific Controls’ product and services penetration into new customers, market, and industry segments.
• Develop and assist installed customer base through life cycle & education services.
• Develop, drive and lead growth initiative programs across the assigned region and Industry.
• Take a pro-active role in working with Pacific Controls Sales teams and regional account holders in pursuit of projects to achieve order conversion to maximize the potential for Pacific Controls products and services.
• Actively participate in scheduled Managers and Sales Meetings to ensure all aspects of Business Management and Sales are fully understood and implemented in conformance with OHSE requirements and legislation.
• Extend education and training offerings to external & internal stakeholders.
• To host technical customer presentations.
• Align the customer stocking, pricing, and commercial strategic plan with Pacific Controls overall strategies.
• Gather competitive intelligence, and improve customer service, consistent with division sales strategies and account plans.
• Owns and develop end user relationship.

-Review RFQ

-Set the sales & Pricing strategy.

-Negotiate and drive commercial terms.

The successful candidate will also have:

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferable, but not essential)
• Process control and valve knowledge especially Pressure Regulators and Pressure Safety Valves
• Excellent communication and business negotiation skills
• Experience in Oil and Gas, Mineral Processing, Power, Chemical and related process industries (preferable but not essential)
• Forward thinking and identify growth opportunities
• Good local market knowledge and demonstrated success in sales
• Self-motivated, creative, together with an ability to work under own initiative
• Excellent Planning, organisational and time management skills
• A good team ethic

This position offers a remuneration package encompassing a base salary plus a car allowance.
