About the role
This newly created position, reports to the Manager - Finance, Risk & Technology in a crucial role that holds responsibility for processing the organisations payroll on a fortnightly basis, ensuring that all our people are paid on time and accurately.
The Payroll & Finance Officer works with the Manager to ensure a continual focus on ensuring ongoing financial sustainability of our organisation.
The successful candidate will work a 6 day fortnight (30 hours), as follows;
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (to assist with fortnightly payroll)
- Week 2: 3 days per week (incorporating a Thursday and Friday)
About you
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in a similar role and;
- 2+ years' experience processing an end to end payroll process
- Financial acumen and experience in a commercial or non profit environment
- A degree in Finance / Accounting (or working towards) - highly desirable
- Proven experience interpreting data and providing analyses in relation to trends, proactive mitigations etc.
- Strong administrative skills including the ability to prepare professional financial reports
- Strong IT skills including financial systems and the MS Suite of products
- Ability to operate under limited direction demonstrating flexibility and initiative
- Experience interpreting financial data into easy-to-understand language for those with minimum financial acumen
