About The Role
Join our Finance team as we seek a dedicated Payroll Officer for a 7-month contract maternity cover role (with possible extension), ensuring continuity and excellence in our payroll operations. You will work with the APAC finance team, HR and our various outsourced payroll providers and take full ownership of running the end-to-end payroll cycle for our employees across Australia, New Zealand and Vietnam.
About You
Proven experience in managing end-to-end payroll processing for a large Australian company. Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation. NZ knowledge is ideal, but not essential. Experience working with ADP as a payroll provider and dealing with international payroll partners will be highly advantageous. You will also have:
- intermediate MS Excel skills, with ability to utilise formulas to maximise efficiency in repeat and manual tasks.
- strong problem-solving skills, with ability manage and resolve issues independently, and escalate when necessary.
- ability to display sensitivity, discretion and integrity in dealing with confidential and sensitive matters concerning remuneration and benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in partnership with our outsourced payroll providers, process monthly payroll for ~200 employees in Australia and NZ, as well as assist with the monthly payroll review for ~200 employees in Vietnam.
- Maintain an accurate payroll processing system and records, by preparing payroll input data, such as joiners, leavers, termination and redundancy calculations, and existing employee changes, for manual template submission to our payroll partners (ADP in Australia).
- Manage all payroll queries and provide recommendations on issue resolutions.
- Ensure Awards are adhered to and interpreted accurately for relevant employees.
- Ensure all payroll regulatory filing and payment deadlines are met (Payroll Tax, Workcover, Superannuation, PAYGWH, assistance with FBT submissions).
- Calculation and posting payroll related journals to the GL (Microsoft D365), including employee leave provision and payroll clearing accounts.
- Be the payroll subject matter expert while being up to date on changes to legislation impacting the business, ensuring compliance with all government regulations.
