Payroll Officer

We are seeking experienced Payroll Officers to join one of our government clients for an immediate start. This position will be for three months initially with potential for extension.

The Role

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Complete payroll functions ensuring compliance with tax legislation and relevant Awards
• Complex calculations including leave audits and termination calculations
• Ensuring compliance with relevant Awards, Enterprise Agreements and legislative requirements
• Provide administrative support, data entry and payroll services
• Assist by sorting, scanning, record keeping, archiving and data entry of various leave forms
• Filing employee documentation, scanning & archiving, sorting & batching
• Data Processing

Skills and Experience Required

We are seeking applications from candidates who bring:

• Previous payroll experience preferably in Government
• Understanding of tax legislation
• Attention to detail
• Punctual and reliable
• Resilience to fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and independently
• High level of confidentiality
• Experience in and/or ability to work directly with senior management
• A current National Police Clearance is required
