The Role:
As Payroll Officer, you will be an integral part of the Payroll team and be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and payment of fortnightly wages and salaries.
The role is located in our Head Office in Gladesville, Sydney. On-site parking or also easily accessible via public transport. Work on-site for 4 days, 1 day remotely (after the initial training period).
What you will be doing:
- Ensure the accurate and timely preparation and payment of fortnightly wages and salaries in accordance with award conditions
- Maintain accurate pay records of all team members, associated timekeeping data, statistics and leave records
- Maintain all award data and ensure wage payments comply with awards, arbitrated decisions and contractual agreements
- Resolve external and internal queries in a timely manner
- Ensure payment summaries are prepared, reconciled and distributed in accordance with ATO regulations
- Ensure all Government regulatory payments are paid in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to Payroll Tax, Group Tax, Superannuation, Portable LSL, garnishees, union deductions
- Ensure all government statistics are completed in a timely manner
- Assistance with General ledger enquiries and reconciliations
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Award based Payroll experience and the ability to interpret awards and enterprise agreements - essential
- Kronos system experience or similar timesheet software - ideal
- 2 - 3 years high volume payroll experience
- Understanding of payroll legislation and processes, including taxation and superannuation
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines
- Strong work ethic and high attention to detail
- Ability to contribute and work well within a team
