Payroll Officer

Position Summary:

As a result of our continuous growth, our client is seeking a motivated and skilled Payroll Officer to join our dedicated Human Resource & Payroll Team at their site located near Wynnum. This position is ideal for candidates with transferable skills looking to advance their career within the Human Resources Industry. 

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Group Human Resources Manager, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting the HR team with payroll-related information and providing ADHOC support as needed.
• Ensuring accurate and timely payroll services, including end-to-end volume payroll processing, end-of-month and end-of-year payroll balancing & reporting, and Single Touch Payroll reconciliation.
• Completing employment changes and requests, such as new hires, terminations, adjustments, and classification changes.
• Responding to management and employees' payroll-related queries.
• Maintaining and updating personnel data in our payroll database, ensuring that all systems contain current information.
• Reviewing employment contracts to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, including tax and superannuation obligations.
• Managing and updating Payroll and HR records, including general administration, filing, and archiving while ensuring confidentiality and privacy at all times.
• Conducting payroll audits to guarantee data accuracy and generating reports as required.

Qualifications & Attributes:

1. Demonstrated experience in a similar role is highly desirable but not essential. 
2. Proven ability to interpret legislation and policy, providing guidance to managers
3. Ability to develop relationships and maintain confidentiality within the team at all levels of the company.
4. Highly organized with attention to detail, excellent time management, and problem-solving skills.
5. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
