Payroll Officer
Our client is an industry leader in Civil Construction space looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join their business in Essendon.
This is a permanent full-time role for immediate start.
Overview
This role is instrumental in providing payroll transactional services & support to all business entities. You will be reporting to the Payroll Manager delivering accurate payroll process, payments and records to the business and employees within agreed timelines.

Role
- Responsible for setting up employees - 80% volume of payroll will be trade based.
- Process end to end payroll weekly using SAP in a timely manner.
- Ability to interpret EBA's and Awards for wage payments and employee set up.
- Processing payroll on costs - leave, super, WorkCover, PAYG, IPI, LSL etc.
- Maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues/employees and other stakeholders to facilitate a high level of payroll services.
- Maintain service standards including prompt issues resolution and adherence to privacy, confidentiality, and compliance requirements.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years demonstrated experience in Payroll systems and processes.
- Working knowledge of SAP payroll system is a distinct advantage.
- Experience managing complex and high-volume payroll operations.
- Ability to resolve complex pay issues.
- Good working knowledge on MS office- excel, word.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements
- Be well organized, service focussed & pay attention to accuracy / detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload, manage time and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Well-developed written & verbal communication skills
- A strong work ethic with a can-do attitude / willingness to help others.
