Job Description

ConocoPhillips' Australian headquarters are located in Brisbane. Our focus is supplying Australian customers with natural gas and international customers with liquefied natural gas. We do this through our 47.5 percent interest in the Australia Pacific LNG joint venture, one of the largest producers of natural gas in eastern Australia. ConocoPhillips Australia also operates the Australia Pacific LNG liquefied natural gas facility near Gladstone. We are also an exploration company, with ongoing exploration occurring in the Bowen and Surat Basin and new exploration in the Otway Basin to identify natural gas reserves for supply to Australian customers.
As ConocoPhillips expands its footprint in Australia, we are excited to expand the human resources team by inviting eligible applicants to apply for the newly created position of Payroll Officer .
Reporting to the Payroll & HR Data Specialist, the Payroll Officer will ensure the processing and maintenance of employees' salaries and benefits in accordance with Company Policies and Legal requirements for ConocoPhillips' Australia Business Unit.
The Payroll Officer will be accountable for delivering on a range of payroll and human resources services associated with payroll and compliance, compensation and benefits programs, employee queries, global mobility management, and assisting with projects and system testing to ensure compliance.
We expect this new role to be busy, interesting and fulfilling, and your duties will include:
- Support the end-to-end employee payroll process - from hire to retire
- System management of the Australia Business Unit's organisational structure
- Support regulatory internal and external reporting requirements
- Support the cyclical headcount and salary and wages budget process
- Support internal and external audits
- System maintenance, including regulatory upgrades and comprehensive testing as required
- Schedule and support compensation focused employee information sessions

You will also bring to the role:
- Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, commerce, or related discipline OR minimum 3 + years recent work experience in a similar role
- Confidence applying different payroll conditions to multiple, diverse work sites
- Knowledge and confidence in system testing
- Demonstrated high level of attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to service customers across all levels of an organisation
- High level of flexibility, adaptability, and resilience to lead and deal with change
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
