The Opportunity

We are looking for a dynamic, HR Business Partner to provide leadership and direction to pivotal areas within the Department of Transport. 

In this role, you will work in partnership with business leaders to develop and manage strategic HR projects, programs, and initiatives to ensure the organisation has access to the right people (capabilities, behaviours, and mindsets) to achieve its strategic intent.

You will be given the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of diverse business units and enable optimal workforce performance through talent management, workforce planning, change management and effective resolution of workforce issues.

Our ideal candidate will have effective leadership and people management skills and an excellent ability to build and maintain working relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will have substantial experience providing strategic human resource management advice and coaching as well as the ability to analyse complex workforce issues and propose innovative solutions that achieve results.

Currently there is one (1) full-time permanent position. Please note this role will be required to work at different locations across the Metropolitan area.

About you

·        Provide strategic HR advice and solutions to Executive Management.

·        Cultivate strong, productive working relationships and partnerships with the Leadership teams to co-design strategic HR solutions.

·        Comprehensive knowledge, understanding and ability to interpret legislation, awards, industrial instruments, policies, and procedures relevant to HR best practice.

·        Coach Business Leaders to shape and drive strategic people plans.

·        Manage transformational change projects.

·        Translate concepts into pragmatic and actionable plans, driving accountability and outcomes.

·        Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills adjusting style to effectively coach, influence, and support managers to manage and resolve complex people matters.
