Your Role:You will be responsible for the performance and outcomes of the
Portfolio Insights team. You will work with your Domain Lead to set and achieve the objectives and results for the team, including providing hands-on guidance to your team members to prioritise and execute towards achieving those goals. You will have a background in delivering high quality analysis to insurance portfolio managers and a passion for the continuous improvement in the quality and delivery of
Portfolio Insights.
Your Responsibilities:- Build actionable insights across multiple insurance portfolio's to monitor and predict performance real-time, as an enabler to the achievement of profitability and growth targets
- Deliver powerful portfolio management analysis and recommendations to portfolio managers via high quality presentation and dashboards
- Develop and produce recurring tools with self service capability
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and integrate data capability and continuously innovate and automate reporting and monitoring capabilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality analytics and business intelligence via faster/shorter iterative cycles
- Drive decision-making and remove impediments to team's progress by influencing key stakeholders, engaging with other team leaders to manage interdependencies, and escalating issues appropriately
- Continuously reprioritise the roadmap and backlog leveraging a wide variety of techniques to take into account original plans, changing priorities, technical and business constraints
- Lead agile team members with specific focus on setting priorities and day to day interactions (e.g., manage a prioritised backlog, lead and participate in sprint ceremonies, facilitate release planning)
- Effectively participate in business-wide quarterly business planning for integrated planning, prioritisation, resource allocation, and to improve portfolio metrics and shape the priorities
Qualifications:- 10+ years of professional experience in the commercial and/or personal lines insurance industry.
- Prior experience in a senior analytics, underwriting or portfolio management role
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft excel: Developing formulas, recording macros, ability to standardize templates and improve existing excel templates
- Fluency in data and analytics driven decision making and feedback loops into portfolio management
- Ability to provide hands-on direction and day-to-day execution ownership in a multidisciplinary team
- Relevant knowledge and understanding of business objectives to align with team vision
- Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically; Also, an empathic approach to understand user needs and motivations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable in engaging with senior leadership
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills, with thorough attention to detail
- Natural curiosity for leveraging data to find impactful insights that drive profit-generating changes
- Proficient in using Qlikview, SQL, R, Python or similar tools
