This position plays a key role inPerforming Arts and working collaboratively across Council tochampion our purpose of Growing Townsville and to deliver theCorporate Plan in consultation with the Townsville Community. Thisposition is accountable to the General Manager Community andLifestyle and will be focused on the needs and aspirations of theTownsville community; growing and managing customer relationships,developing a culture of customer-centricity and personalaccountability; and reshaping how we deliver services to maximisevalue.
The Performing Arts Officerundertakes the day-to-day administrative responsibilities fortheatre bookings and contract administration to support theCoordinator Performing Arts. The role entails deliveringadministration functions related to the theatre’s publicprogram and hirer bookings with an emphasis on administrative tasksrelated to supporting local hirers.
Aboutyou
Our ideal applicant willhave:
- Demonstrated experience role modelling a positive safety culture and adherence to the Health Safety Management Systems through visible leadership and exercising due diligence and management of compliance and legislative obligations.
- Relevant tertiary education in arts administration or business, or relevant experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide constructive customer-centered communications with clients, performers, promoters, customers, internal and external stakeholders, and volunteers.
- Demonstrated experience in working in a team environment, undertaking a range of tasks to support the outputs of a business unit within a large organisation and the ability to work independently to produce an output such as the delivery of a performance.
- Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office suite of applications with an emphasis on Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams for the proficient production of professional documentation and excellent business application skills for familiarity with databases and the purpose of accurate data entry.
- Sound time management abilities to meet deadlines for project delivery.
- Current Queensland “C” class driver’s licence.
