Cairns Private Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Theatre Department on a permanent part-time basis, 48 hours/fortnight.
About the Role
An opportunity exists for an experienced Perioperative nurse, with a commitment to clinical education and professional development, to provide mandatory and relevant clinical education to new graduates and theatre staff.
This is hands on role requiring an exceptional candidate that can not only deliver formal training but also lead, coach, and inspire others through practical on the job training working alongside our team of clinical employees.
Shift work is a requirement of the position with the expectation that you will provide direct clinical support across the shifts.
About You
To succeed in this role you will bring experience within a nurse preceptor or facilitator role with extensive acute perioperative experience. You will be a strong problem solver with the ability to manage challenging situations calmly and be able to engage with all of our stakeholders be they medical professionals, patients or other nursing staff.
This role is well suited to a passionate mentor driven to see their team members succeed and grow. You will be responsible for providing education to New Graduate Nurses, nurses transitioning into the perioperative environment and the ongoing professional development of staff within the department.
You will also bring;
Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Perioperative setting
Proven specialty experience in either Anaesthetics/Recovery, as a Scrub Scout or both is essential.
Must have Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or working towards
Post-graduate qualifications in relevant area are highly desired.
