About the role
The South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) is looking for a Player Development Manager to implement individualized best-practice programs and policies in the areas of Wellbeing, Career, Education and Professional Development for male players in the Big Bash League, State and underage representative level. This is a 2 year fixed term contract.
About you
- You have a strong ability to build relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders
- You have outstanding oral communication in a high-performance team environment
- You will have competency in the provision of mental health and well-being programs for individuals and small groups
- You have the capability to lead career, education, and personal development for elite athletes
- You are trustworthy and reliable with a proven commitment to ethical behaviour, particularly in relation to maintaining confidentiality
- You have a strong set of personal values which are totally aligned with cricket's values
- You are accountable, disciplined and motivated with a strong work ethic
- You have a strong results orientation with the proven ability to plan and deliver results
- You hold a Bachelor Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Career Development, Social Work, Education, Psychology)
- You will hold a valid Working with Children Check or can obtain one.
It would also be great if you have…
- A certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
- An in-depth understanding of the sport and non-sport requirements of elite athletes
- A genuine desire to assist elite athletes fulfil their potential
About us
The SACA is one of the nation's premier sporting bodies, with a vision for cricket to be Australia's favorite sport - a sport for all Australian's. Operating within the sports and entertainment industry, SACA offers an exciting and dynamic working environment, and is responsible for overseeing and developing cricket on a State level.
The SACA is responsible for coordinating international and domestic cricket matches, Premier cricket matches and community carnivals, coaching and development and pathway programs for girls and boys, coaching, umpiring, volunteer development and ground management. It also administers high performance cricket in South Australia, including the West End Redbacks, Scorpions and Adelaide Strikers women's and men's teams.
