Salary relative to experience, ranging from $97,933 to $108,202 + super and leave loading

The Department of Planning and Environment is seeking to appoint two Policy Officers – Marine to join the Marine, Coastal, Estuaries and Flood team in the Environment and Heritage Group (EHG).

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to positive change for the NSW marine environment by working on a diverse range of marine policy and program matters, including marine wildlife, marine estate, marine parks and blue carbon.

The Policy Officer role conducts research and analysis and prepares policy advice to contribute to the review or development of policy and legislation. The role also undertakes project management, reporting, stakeholder engagement, negotiation and collaboration to implement priority marine environmental programs.

About You

You are excited by challenging policy and program problems and are driven to deliver outcomes for our marine environment.

You will have proven communication skills, project management skills, ability to manage competing priorities, ability to analyse complex information and ability to develop solutions to policy problems. You will be able to apply these skills to challenging policy issues and rapidly develop high-quality advice for senior management.

You will value collaboration and diversity and have proven ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders to deliver environmental programs. You will operate with autonomy and make day to day decisions relating to priorities and workload.

You will have a demonstrated understanding of contemporary marine environmental policy, issues and stakeholders in NSW.

You should also have an unrestricted drivers licence.
