The reason for this role:
The Port Logistics Coordinator is accountable to Senior Logistic Project Manager for the supervision of Goldwind Australia’s project wind turbine Logistics.
What you will be doing?
- Host coordination meetings with all parties at port before first shipment arrival.
- Manage logistics activities from Port to site.
- Arrange repairer to fix the issue if repair works can be done at Port of discharge.
- Manage daily routine works at Port of Discharge.
- Port storage analysis and management. Especially the storage plan for different tower type, Nacelle with/without AV lights, blade sets and containers.
- Help inland logistics supplier to deliver components to site correctly and timely as per required from site.
- Manage urgent delivery plan change and coordinate with all relevant parties include authorities.
- Host/attend the daily coordinate meeting to guaranty next day deliveries.
- Review 3 weeks look ahead documents provided by inland logistics contactor.
- Be present at the vessel offloading, reloading at port storage area and potentially site deliveries.
- Complete the required Goldwind’s QA for handover with ocean logistics contractor/GWI together with inland logistics contractor.
- Help with Goldwind staff to gain access to port storage area when require.
- Direct logistics and offloading contractors where to deliver.
- Guide and direct the contractors in following Australian HSE working requirements where needed.
- Visibly show and ensure compliance with the quality, environment, health and safety requirements of the projects.
- Be present at the port before site deliveries.
- Collect Serial No# from the WTG’s and record them in the register.
What does your background look like?
- Wind turbine logistics experience essential.
- Ability in written and verbal communication skills.
- Supervision skills and ability to relate to diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly.
- Good knowledge of construction site practices.
- Ability to work effectively in an International/China cross cultural environment.
Specific educational qualifications are required for the position, the following would be a minimum requirement:
- Tradesman skills.
- Construction Card.
- MSIC.
- Experienced in MS Excel and Word documents.
- App based reporting tool skilled.
- Tracking project schedules for deliveries.
- Recording and updating registers.
- Direct and lead sub-contractors.
Training in the following areas would be an advantage:
- Certificate in OH&S.
- EH&S and quality systems.
- Lead and Supervise teams.
- Knowledge of cranes and lifting operations (Dogman / Rigger).
- Construction knowledge of wind turbines.
