ABOUT PERTH OFFICE
South32's corporate office is based in the heart of Perth's CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a permanent full-time position, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate must be based at our head office in Perth. We understand and value the benefits flexibility brings and operate a hybrid work model (in the office and from home)
Reporting to Group Manager Assurance other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
- Builds trust and credibility with senior stakeholders for the successful delivery of internal audit outcomes that will support the improvement of risk management and effectiveness in South32
- Be the "face of internal audit" with the operations, working with stakeholders (mainly VPs Operations) on audit planning, execution and outcomes.
- Add value by influencing senior stakeholders (including VP Operations) on risk-and-control design and execution - specifically for operational risks.
- Actively contribute to the development of the annual internal audit plan through performing risk assessments, engaging with internal and external stakeholders and applying operational experience and knowledge.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Functional / Operational experience within the resources industry
- General knowledge of risk management, audit principles and control requirements
- Builds trust and respect with internal and external stakeholders (such as the external service providers and engineering specialists) by always acting with high ethical standards, objectivity, transparency, due care and professionalism
- Ability to remain flexible and apply intuition when faced with ambiguity in providing advice to key stakeholders, senior management and the Board
- Ability to challenge the status quo and identify opportunities to improve operational practices
- Well organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor's degree
- Professional accreditation or certification in auditing / fraud investigations preferred.
