Position Profile and Role:
Join us and help shape the future of our workforce at the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS). As Principal, Strategic Workforce & Talent Planning, reporting to the Director of Organisational Development, you will lead a team to design, develop, and deliver strategic initiatives that support our workforce needs and foster sustainable growth.
Working across all CAHS directorates and services, you will support dynamic workforce planning, aligned to CAHS strategic priorities and ensure we have the necessary capabilities and capacity to meet the evolving healthcare needs of Western Australia's children and young people.
You will leverage data and the knowledge of our leadership teams to understand challenges across our key professional groups (Nursing, Junior Doctors, Senior Doctors, Allied Health, Corporate specialists) and support our services in staying ahead of changes in industry and community dynamics. You will play a key role in fostering an environment that values innovation, responds proactively to change and fosters professional growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading workforce planning, development, and analysis of CAHS-wide Strategic Workforce policy and reform initiatives.
- Researching and analysing state, national, and international trends, contributing to CAHS’s contemporary knowledge base.
- Preparing briefing notes, research papers, and reports, to provide timely advice and information to executive and key stakeholders.
- Building and maintaining strategic relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating CAHS workforce business objectives.
- Executing talent management cycles, including talent review, high potential management, and succession planning processes including the development of capability frameworks, incorporating competency development and career pathways for talent management and succession planning.
- Analysing and interpreting workforce trends to identify issues and risks and provide actionable insights.

The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) is proud to be the leading service provider for paediatric healthcare in Western Australia, as the State’s only dedicated health service for infants, children and young people. CAHS comprises of four service areas: Community Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) and Neonatology.
