Principal Data Scientist, Queensland Health

The roleThe role reports to the Manager (Data Analysis) within the Health Service Research, Analysis and Modelling (HSRAM) unit. The Principal Data Scientist will contribute to the development of statewide health service planning for Queensland Health through research, analysis and interpretation of data and information. The successful person The key things we are looking for in a successful candidate are:Ability to source, critically analyse, and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data and research, ensuring that insights gleaned inform strategic decision-making effectively. Highly specialised data manipulation and analysis skills, enabling them to perform complex transformations, develop advanced algorithms, and construct statistical models that underpin informed decision-making processes.Demonstrate proficiency in utilising a range of data integration, analytics, and reporting technologies, whether on-premise or cloud-based, such as Azure, SQL Server, R Studio/ Posit Workbench, Power BI, Qlik, and/or Tableau. Be able to critically analyse data to identify patterns and derive actionable insights will be complemented by their ability to communicate…
