With Head Office in Brisbane, Bowen Coking Coal is ASX listed and the Bowen Basin’s newest Coking Coal producer. The mine-site complex encompasses multiple mining operations and key pieces of infrastructure including a Coal Handling and Preparation Plant, a large mobile plant workshop and nearby 350-person mining camp.
About the Role:
A great opportunity has arisen for a Brisbane-based Principal Environmental Advisor who will be responsible for management and timely delivery of environmental approvals and management systems across Bowen Coking Coal’s portfolio of metallurgical coal assets.
You will manage consultants and environmental approval packages of work to meet operational demands, provide inputs and contribute to the delivery of environmental obligations.
Whilst your technical experience in managing environmental approvals process for mining projects is important … it is your positive, flexible and solutions focused approach that is critical. Your passion for the industry, ability to be agile, and sense of humour will see you fit within our team and will be the key to your success.
The Principal Environmental Advisor is a key role so it is critical that you stay connected with our small team. We provide WFH options, and you will need to stay connected with our site team and provide support in person on-site at least 2 days per month.
Your Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Comprehensive working understanding of Commonwealth and Queensland environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in environmental management systems and their practical application.
- Demonstrate adept project management and contractor management abilities.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including technical report writing and strong relationship management skills in complex business environments.
- Have, or the ability to acquire, a Standard 11 qualifications and pass a Coal Board Medical.
