The Executive Government Services directorate within State Services provides strategic support and advice on the management and operation of State Parliament, Executive Council and Executive Government, and delivers executive support to the Premier, Ministers, their officers, and agencies.
The Information Release Branch coordinates and provides advice relating to the access and release of information by DPC, including Freedom of Information (FOI) applications and responding to legal requirements to produce information.
About the RoleThe Principal Information Release Officer has a central role in ensuring the Department meets its obligations to produce or release information, including for FOI applications in accordance with relevant legislation and DPC frameworks. Coordinating and guiding the team in delivering services, and identifying opportunities to improve practices and maintain best practice standards.

Applicants are required to submit:
- A current and detailed resume/Curriculum Vitae outlining your current and previous achievements; and
- A written application of no more than two (2) pages, outlining your experience and capacity to perform the role, particularly with respect to the following role specific requirements and capabilities:
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislation relating to information access and sharing, including Freedom of Information.
- Highly developed skills of analysis, demonstrating sound judgement when analysing information from a range of sources and making recommendations.
Suitable applicants will be required to provide:
- Proof of identity 100-point check (details will be advised after selection).
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate issued by the Western Australian Police Force.
