The role
Growing Deadly Families is Queensland's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander maternity services strategy and aims to ensure every woman in Queensland giving birth to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander babies has access to high quality, clinical and culturally capable maternity services.
The successful candidate for this role will embody Queensland Health's core values while taking on the responsibility of developing comprehensive program documentation. Employing a project management framework, you will ensure clear planning, communication, and governance for effective project outcomes. Collaboration will be a key aspect, as you enlist internal and external expertise to support activities within the implementation plan, engaging stakeholders in the development of program documentation.
Your role extends to progressing associated business cases, conducting research and environmental scanning to advise on future strategic policy challenges, and providing high-level, timely advice on health policy, legislation, and related issues. As a leader in strategic policy development, you will guide staff on projects, contribute to policy frameworks, and prepare briefing documents, submissions, correspondence, and reports. Establishing and maintaining networks with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with human resource management practices, and supporting the development, implementation, and management of contracts are integral parts of this role. Ethical decision-making and active participation in the continuous improvement of Clinical Excellence Queensland activities are essential for success.
The successful person
To excel in this position, you need the capacity to effectively oversee and complete projects, conduct research, analyze trends, and offer detailed interpretations of reports, discussion papers, and other project-related documents. Demonstrating conceptual, analytical, and innovative problem-solving skills is crucial, along with the ability to devise and implement adaptable and responsive solutions to address issues and mitigate risks.
Furthermore, strong written communication skills are essential, encompassing the capability to create high-quality documentation, concise briefs, accurate reports, discussion papers, and submissions. Proficiency in verbal communication is also necessary, coupled with a track record of building productive working relationships, forming partnerships, fostering teamwork, negotiating outcomes, and adeptly representing the Department's interests in interactions with stakeholders. Your proven ability to deliver results, handle competing work priorities, and meet established deadlines and commitments further strengthens your suitability for this role.
