The Role
We are seeking to recruit talented commercial, contracting and procurement practitioners, managers and analysts who can drive innovative commercial outcomes across a wide range of major Australian Defence Force (ADF) capability acquisition and sustainment projects.
As an EL1 Contracting Manager (Senior Contracting Officer), you will be responsible for the provision of commercial, contracting and procurement advice and support into commercial strategies, development of Approach to Market documentation, conduct of procurement including evaluation, negotiation and probity support as well as commercial support in relation to contract management issues and risks. In addition, you will be responsible for the coordination and management of specialist advice including legal, financial and Australian Industry Capability.
You will be responsible for developing and managing a high performing team, developing and fostering productive relationships with stakeholders and clients, communicating with influence and driving for commercial outcomes that comply with Commonwealth Government legislation and policy requirements.
About our Team
We are recruiting in an exciting time for Defence across a range of positions in Procurement and Contracting between three Groups:
- Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG): CASG exists to meet the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) military equipment and supply requirements, identified by Defence and approved by Government. CASG manages a muti-billion dollar portfolio of complex, high-profile acquisitions and sustainment activities supporting armed forces.
- Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance Group (GWEO): GWEO’s mission is to deliver an Enterprise with a focus on domestic manufacture, long-range strike and uplifting our war stocks enabling the Australian Defence Force, in competition and conflict.
- Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG): NSSG is responsible for delivering and sustaining Australia’s naval capability – the ships and submarines – for Australia to be able to fight and win at sea.
