The Role
We are seeking a Procurement Officer to join our dedicated team on the Albury to Illabo section of the Inland Rail Albury to Parkes Enhancement Project. As a crucial team member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our procurement strategies, optimising costs, and ensuring seamless supply operations.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring of procurement mailboxes and responding to daily queries.
- Maintain meticulous and consistent filing practices and keeping procurement folder updated.
- Setting up suppliers in the system, and liaising with Area leads (quality, safety, enviro, HR etc) for completion of the evaluation process.
- Getting quotations from the market and raising Purchase Orders in accordance with Martinus procedures.
- Issuing Purchase Orders (PO) to the relevant suppliers and coordinate delivery.
- Maintaining and issues of basic stock materials
About you
Ideally, you will be based in Wagga Wagga and willing to travel to Forbes in the short term on a fortnightly basis until we start the second stage of this project near Wagga Wagga (this is desirable, not essential) you will also have the following skills and experience.
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the rail or transportation industry.
- Demonstrated experience on large-scale construction projects – specific to logistics and/or materials control.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A commitment to safety and compliance with industry regulations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
