About Your Role: Procurement Officer
An opportunity has become available for a Procurement Officer to join our Above Water Systems team based in Garden Island. You will be responsible in developing and promoting Thales procurement competitiveness within the programme as well as oversee the management of the suppliers relevant to the bids and programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Defining and executing the procurement strategy for your specific projects and bids (requirements, suppliers, costs, lead time, performance, export classification, contractual requirements, cash out, guarantees, nature of the pricing, currency, exchange rates etc.)
- Supporting the business preparation of competitive bids or proposals, maintain and update procurement records and generate reports on procurement activity
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve purchasing queries, coordinating the execution of the Procurement plan and the PVet process with the support of the relevant Category Buyers
- Preparation and review of tender and purchasing documents related to any procurement activities carried out
- Analyse sourcing requirements, ensure all required information is available and request quotes for supply of services and materials.
- Identify, mitigate and escalate procurement risks to enable the business to meet its obligations and maximise opportunities
Your Skills:
- Experience in procurement or strategic sourcing within a high-tech and matrix organisation
- Previous experience of managing project and bid procurement activities
- Strong ability to develop relationships within all areas of the business and at all levels
- Ability to negotiate and manage contract spends of up to $20M
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong skills in MS Office and project management tools
