The role
Reporting to Procurement Manager (Business Improvement and Sustainability), the Procurement Specialist focuses on the environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) portfolio, and supports the growth of this portfolio within the business. The portfolio includes business improvement, First Nations participation, ethical procurement, human rights (including Modern Slavery etc.), local supplier engagement, and sustainability.
In addition, the role includes the development of Procurement category strategies and day-to-day category management for Contingent Labour Hire, Consultants and Corporate Travel.
The Procurement Specialist will combine knowledge of procurement flow-process fundamental (end-to-end procurement), from source to contract including tender evaluation and supplier review, contract execution, and relationship management, with the interpretation of data and reporting to provide ethical and sustainability centric findings to a broad audience.
As an integral part of the Supply Chain and Procurement team, the Procurement Specialist will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to understand the short-term and long-term Procurement objectives and wider-business needs.
Dyno Nobel are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist who can:
- Provide specialist procurement advice and effective market engagement to procure the required goods and services
- Drive compliance to ethical standards and expectations within the Supply Chain and Procurement team, wider business and external parties.
- Providing high quality, professional advice, interpretation, and information on human rights issues both within the organisation and within its supply chain.
- Drafting and delivery of advice pertaining to supplier diversity, modern slavery legislation (including annual Modern Slavery Statement), and Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) objectives, for example.
- Support the Procurement Manager to develop and execute category plans and strategic sourcing initiatives to deliver best commercial and performance outcomes for the assigned categories, with a key focus on improving safety outcomes, identifying and mitigating risk and value generation.
- Develop and execute Procurement activities, strategic business and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business priorities.
- Assist in managing DNAP’s objectives in driving internal and supplier compliance to ethical sourcing expectations.
- Management of commercial risks and implementation of effective risk mitigation in line with business position.
- Awareness of external market conditions, price volatility and service dynamics. Commitment to the best commercial and performance outcomes for portfolio with the added focus of improving safety outcomes and increasing value generation.
- Manage supplier performance against agreed contractual commitments.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to perform opportunity analysis to identify improvement projects that will deliver significant cost savings and value improvement.
- Contractual negotiations to achieve defined outcomes.
