Job Summary:
This role is responsible for the garment development process, from collaborating with the design team through to final shipment and QC, including creating specifications, and tracking range progress to ensure that you meet internal deadlines with a focus on delivery and quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the design team on concepts and needs across existing and new categories
- Work with design and production teams to allocate work to manufacturers
- When required, research, contact and on-board new manufacturers
- Work with new and existing manufacturers on initial sampling, quality checks, etc
- Ensure clear and concise comments are sent to all relevant suppliers
- Manage all QC issues to ensure high quality garments
- Maintain an organised block and sample library
- Assist in fit sessions
- Accurately measure garments for fit sessions – protos, SMS, PPS and Off
- BulkConduct fit sessions in a clear, confident, and precise manner
- Responsible for creating tech packs for designers
- Create accurate measurement specifications with correct grading for all styles within the specified timeline
- Create point of measure diagrams for each size spec
- Track range progress on a daily basis ensuring all styles are on target as per Critical Path and communicating any issues with solutions
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years plus experience working in a Product Developer or garment tech role
- Illustrator skills and ability to sketch a technical drawing of a garment is a must
- Experience with offshore manufacturers would be ideal
- You must have strong technical skills with a focus on product quality, fit and improvements
- Ability to work within a fast-paced and organised team environment
- Experience working with both CMT and FFP
- An ability to prioritise and multitask with excellent attention to details
- Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Proficiency in all MS Office specifically in Excel and Adobe Illustrator essential
- Experience in pattern making
- Children apparel experience preferable
