Product Development

As our Product Development Formulation Scientist you will be responsible to ensure that the existing and new recipes across the ANZ factories are fulfilling the Mars standards and legal requirements at best possible costs. 
You'll work collaboratively with Product Development, raw material technologists, Q&FS, commercial & SQA to ensure our products are fit for purpose. 

As the Formulation Scientist you will be part of the R&D Department and will play a key role in ensuring our consumer insights and business needs are translated into a bill of raw materials (recipe) which respects individual factory peculiarities and constraints at best possible costs thus meeting the defined business model while ensuring compliance to legal and Mars Quality standards. 

What are we looking for?

• BSc/MSc/PhD in Science, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Food Technology
• Solid experience in R&D, preferably within a business environment
• Experience in delivery of product Quality, demand (R&D, Marketing, Insights) and supply (Commercial Buyers, SQA, Supply)
• Prior experience in Product Development is ideal

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Development, implementation and maintenance of recipes and raw profiles in the factory of responsibility in line with business processes and company standards
• Responsible for nutritional compliance of the ANZ product portfolio in the factory of responsibility
• Performance of formulation & optimisation to ensure delivery of nutritional, cost and performance targets
• Responsible for factory Nutrient Matrix, Design, implementation and monitoring of raw material testing plan enabling most efficient use of resources (budget) while enabling precision and continuous improvement in formulation.
