Our client is seeking to engage a Commercial Production Coordinator at their St. Peters site.
Position Overview
Our client is an Australian leading manufacturer of high visibility clothing, supplying to major government groups and airline sector. The role would require you to oversee all areas of the production process and customer requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Overseeing the production process, drawing up production schedules and timelines.
Overseeing the development, sampling and production process for major accounts in the government sector and airlines.
Overseeing production staff, organising production with factory supervisor.
Ensuring local and offshore production is cost effective and running on time.
Raising offshore production orders and cut sheets.
Coordinating local production processes.
Ordering fabric and accessories, liaising with freight forwarders.
Review backorder reports and raise purchase orders for raw fabrics for local and offshore production
Liaising among different areas, e.g. Suppliers, Makers, customers, sales rep. via phone and email.
Liaising with the customer’s product development team to create specs and new product development.
Liaising with Sales manager
Use of knowledge of fabrics, trims and garment construction to assist in development and to foresee potential issues
Checking pre-production samples & issue QC reports.
Track and approve lab dips.
Working with specification sheets and measuring garments.
Control samples to and from all offshore and local suppliers
Dealing with our certifiers, factory auditors, unions.
Read through new tender and new customer briefs. Collate information and begin development process.
Coding all production and development related invoices and pass to accounts department.
Maintaining general administration in relation to orders, tracking, purchasing.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar production/quality control/garment technician role.
Garment construction knowledge. Fashion and textile certificate preferred but not essential.
Knowledge and exposure to textile sourcing.
Supplier management experience.
You will have a passion for the overall production manufacturing process and seeing the final product.
Knowledge in The Australian Standard AS/NZS4602.1:2011 and AS1906.4 an advantage.
You will be hands on, self-motivated and organised
Excellent verbal and written communication, Mandarin speaking an advantage
Willingness to learn
Strong organisational, interpersonal and task prioritising skills
Proficient in the use of Excel and Microsoft Office
