Chandler Macleod, in collaboration with Santos, is currently seeking a Production Engineer to join the team located in Brisbane, QLD. Reporting to the Team Leader - Production Engineering Strategy the main objective of the Production Engineer is to identify, justify and support medium to long term opportunities to maximise production, reduce cost and reduce emissions from existing assets. This position is office based and will see you join a supportive high performing onshore team.
Tasks & Accountabilities include:
- Consults with Production Engineering and reservoir engineering teams to gather parameters needed for optimal long-term production forecasts
- Field Development Analysis
- Support Frontline Production Engineering Teams with troubleshooting
- Support Production Engineering CAPEX projects
- Identify unit cost reduction opportunities: analyses impact of short-term and long-term production opportunities
- Identify production enhancement opportunities: de-bottlenecking scenarios, production increase opportunities, among others
- BOS (production backout studies including mitigation plans) using integrated production models (IPM)
- Be initiative-taking in finding new ways to increase the efficiency in our IPM: automation of processes
- Compliance with the Santos Management System (SMS).
- Compliance with the Santos Delegation of Authority (DOA).
- Compliance with the Santos Corporate Governance and Safety requirements
This assignment is initially offered for 12 months, engaged via Chandler Macleod.
Location for this assignment is Brisbane working full-time office hours.
About You
Being experienced in a similar role within the oil and gas sector with a solid understanding of and have demonstrated best practice in the principles essential to Integrated Production Systems (Reservoir, Wells, Network, Facilities).
This will be underpinned by your formal qualification of Bachelor Engineering in Mechanical/Petroleum/Chemical/ Process or related. You will be able to clearly define your individual contribution to team success including the systems, tools, and industry standards that you have utilised in your experience within the energy sector so far to drive this including:
- Degree Qualification in an Engineering discipline
- Create, maintain, and manage Integrated Production Models / Systems for PNG, GLNG and Conventional Gas & Oil
Desired experience for this position includes:
- Integrated Production Models software, preferable IPM Suite (PETEX ©)
- Reservoir Engineering
- Production Engineering (Sub-surface and Surface)
- Facilities Engineering
