This is an opportunity to join a long established Australian owned and operated company based in Cheltenham, Victoria. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Production Manager/QA Manager to join our team.
The position represents a great opportunity to combine your production management skills and technical skills. Reporting to the Managing Director you will be a “hands-on” driven person with a “can-do attitude” and a passion for success. Full training will be provided.
Your responsibilities will include:-
- Providing trade/technical knowledge and support to the workshop staff
- Providing support to other employees in relation to delivery times, trade advice, prototypes, purchasing and general troubleshooting
- Ensuring that assembly and repair is carried out in a timely manner
- Ensuring assembly, testing and storage procedures are adhered to
- Purchasing - source and evaluating raw materials
- Creating tools required for workshop and support with written procedures on use
- Creating and maintaining technical drawings
- Maintaining workshop equipment and tools
- Quality Assurance - implementing and maintaining the Business Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
- AutoCAD skills
- All associated administration including checking supplier invoices, work orders and maintaining data base
As the ideal candidate and to make the transition as smooth as possible, you will possess the following key attributes:
- Mechanical Trade Certificate (Fitter & Turner or similar) that has strong instrumentation experience to train and mentor the workshop
- Experience in a similar role preferably in a workshop type environment to ensure you are suited to managing a small team
- AutoCAD LT2000 Drawings or similar using DWG type files
- Trade - Fitting, turning, TIG Welding, mechanical repair practices
- Basic knowledge of electrical
- Have held a role where you were responsible for Quality Assurance
- Commitment to WHS
- Be multi-skilled and happy to be “hands-on”
- Able to lead and motivate staff
