About the Role
We require an experienced fulltime Production Manager to join our team on a full time basis. We can offer a great working environment and the perfect opportunity for someone who is looking for a hands-on Production Manager position. You will be reporting directly to the Managing Director. As Production Manager you will responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process of plastics and polyfilm products, ensuring efficient and timely production. This role involves managing production staff, coordinating with other departments, maintaining quality standards, and optimising production processes to achieve organisational goals. We are looking for someone that has a positive attitude, high attention to detail and exceptional organization and time management skills.
Duties will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Liaising with relevant parties to formulate objectives and understand requirements
- Estimating costs and preparing budgets
- Co-ordinate production workflow to meet specifications and deadlines and remain within budget
- Delegation and allocation of work to employees
- Ensure production is set out correctly
- Responsible for quality assurance of goods that are manufactured
- Managing your own workload and motivating employees to ensure they are on target to meet KPI’s
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Resolve any issues that may arise
- Manage the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets.
- Oversee maintenance of production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety within the production area.
- Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations and company policies
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years Production Manager/Co-ordinator experience in Australia
- Thorough understanding of and experience in Plastics production and extrusion
- Experience in Flexo-packaging a bonus
- The ability to multi-task and work without supervision
- Strong people management skills in a manufacturing environment
- Process -orientated with strong attention to detail and quality focus
- The ability to interact positively with all levels of the workforce, operational staff, and management
- You must be results-oriented, using your initiative to make things happen, with a commitment to meeting targets and deadlines
- This is a busy role so must have strong organisational and time-management skills
- Basic computer skills / Computer literacy – MS Office (required)
- Positive attitude, organised and self-motivated
- Highly competent in problem-solving.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work Shift-work (required)
