About the role:
Due to expansion of services and contracts, we have identified the need for a new member to the management team. The role is planned to be full time, but with some flexibility to allow part time hours.
The Program Manager will join a small managerial team and will provide program guidance and support to staff in our Youth and Accommodation focussed programs. Due to the nature of the role, we genuinely consider a female with Aboriginal connections to be essential characteristics.
The role requires demonstrated practice skills which can be used to guide staff, expertise in verbal and written reporting, attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills. You will be required to meet regularly with program delivery teams, guide staff regarding complex behaviours demonstrated by clients, satisfy the reporting requirements of our funding bodies, maintain a budget focussed approach to program expenditure and ensure the corporate values of the organisation are applied in work practices.
The role will provide managerial guidance to staff of 3 hostels for young people aged 16 – 25 years. One hostel is for women in crisis and two hostels are for young people in transition to independent living. The role will also provide managerial support to staff who deliver services to families and other young people identified by our funding bodies as at risk of ongoing attention by those bodies. The aim of all services is this area is to raise the capacity for independent, pro-social functioning.
The role is supported by two other Program Managers, a business manager and the CEO.
About you:
To be best prepared for the role you will have at least 3 years relevant work experience in the human services space. Ideally you will have demonstrated experience at a senior management level.
You will be able to work with a degree of autonomy, be a part of a small team, keen to achieve outcomes, able to work in a problem-solving manner and have a genuine interest in continuous improvement.
You will have a strong understanding of local Aboriginal culture.
Essential Criteria:
1. Have at least 3 years working in a senior role in human services or a similar field.

4. Holding or willing to obtain a Working with Children’s Card, National Police Clearance and a Senior First Aid Certificate.
5. Current “C” class automatic driver's licence.
6. Have Certificate level or higher relevant qualifications, or extensive relevant work experience.
7. Be self-motivated, have good communication and administration skills.
Desirable Criteria:
1. Identify as Christian and/or demonstrated ability to uphold the values of the organisation.
2. Past personal experience, especially in a role managing a small team and working with Aboriginal staff.
