Program Service Leader:

About the opportunity:
Reporting to the Area Manager, this leadership role is primarily focused on supporting the day-to-day operations of the residential program and building capacity within our team of youth workers.
We are looking for a dynamic leader to take on the role of Program Service Leader based in Toowoomba. In this role with DCC, you will work collegially with the management team as you develop and lead innovative people and focused teams to purposefully provide practice excellence to children and young people under the care of the Department of Child Safety in the community and 24/7 accommodation care programs.
DCC is seeking an effective, determined, and creative leader with a proven track record leading a team of youth workers to develop their skills and achieve the best outcomes for young people placed in their residential care program.
Role Requirements:
- Demonstrated skills and experience in leadership for the Child Protection Non-Family-Based Care sector.
- Blue Card
- National Police Check (National Police Certification)
- Current driver's license
- Hope and Healing Modules
- Eligibility and right to work in Australia
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth, and Family Intervention or working towards the minimum qualifications requirements
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualifications in Child Protection and/or business management/ human services
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Supervise and oversee the daily operations of the Non-Family Based Care Residential Care Program ensuring program routine and expectations are communicated and consistently adhered to by youth workers and that their responses are consistent and predictable.
- Liaise with child safety, family, medical practitioners, community stakeholders, and education providers.
- Ensure that the program provides a safe and therapeutic milieu in line with the Trauma Recovery Model for young people to develop and learn and ensure that the program environment is maintained to a high standard providing cleaning and sanitary environments.
- Provide client-centred and trauma-informed care to young people that meet the Standards of Care, rights of the young people, and DCC's policies.
- Identify opportunities for program improvements and ensure best practices in the delivery of integrated, proactive, and responsive services to children and young people.
- Plan and develop safety plans, activity schedules, house planners, weekly menu plans, program meetings, and case planning.
