We are currently seeking a highly organised and collaborative Programs Coordinator who will be responsible for overseeing allocated programs delivered in the Science Centre. This role is key to ensuring that customers of the Science Centre receive a rewarding experience consisting of engaging and informative programs delivered by knowledgeable and passionate team members.
In this role you will:
- Deliver quality STEM programs to the general public, groups, teachers and students such as science shows, puppet presentations, STEM workshops.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to our visitors, by understanding their needs and delivering against those needs.
- Make an immediate and positive impression on teachers, students and others by being approachable and building rapport with a positive attitude.
- Consider the information needs of audience including sophistication, skills and knowledge of group and choose right language / adapt presentation to suit the needs of the audience.
- Oversee the delivery and coordination of allocated programs ensuring the program is planned effectively, activities are scheduled, and resources are available.
- Working closely with the Insights & Marketing and Delivery to research, source and/or develop interesting and informative programs that are relevant and leading-edge
- STEM based programs.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an individual who can problem solve new content ideas to physical delivery that is adaptable to the needs of the customer, student and teacher. Additionally, someone who is passionate and can deliver continuous responsive customer service.
Other skills and experience required includes:
- Demonstrated team management, mentoring and training experience.
- Demonstrated public presentation skills and experience presenting to a range of audiences.
- Experience working with children, ideally in a teaching or coaching role.
- Demonstrated experience and skills managing incidents and complaints through diplomatic and responsive communication and problem solving.
- Demonstrated capability to be a positive role model, managing change and team member expectations.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Teams) and SharePoint.
Qualifications and Licences:
- Working with Children Check or ability to obtain one
- First aid certificate or ability to obtain one
- Science or Education (Early Childhood) related tertiary qualification.
