The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education. 

We are seeking an experienced Programs Coordinator to join our organisation. Reporting to the Team Leader, Learning for Life and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role involves planning and implementing The Smith Family suite of Learning for Life programs within the community.  You will need to be able to help facilitate successful delivery of the programs, including supporting the Family Partnerships Coordinator with the recruitment of Learning for Life students onto programs. This role will be working within the Central Coast Region, covering the Blue Haven, Springfield, Tuggerah Lakes and Wyong communities.   

About our role
 

You will be responsible for:

  • Establishing and maintaining Partner School relationships and monitoring progress, planning and implementation, and feedback on programs and activities.
  • Continually monitor program delivery and ensure the database has accurate and up to date information.
  • Advocating for and answering enquiries relating to The Smith Family educational programs.
  • Meeting with fellow team members to discuss potential improvements that can be made to the programs. 
  • Working with community leaders to identify partnership opportunities. 

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following: 

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating programs / projects.
  • Proven experience in establishing and maintaining relevant partnerships.
  • Demonstrated experience in administration.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage and plan own work to achieve identified goals within time constraint.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience working collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
  • Holds a current driver’s licence.
  • Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children's Check.
