We have an exciting opportunity for a Programs & Engagement Officer to join our Richmond Tweed Regional Library (RTRL) team. This is a permanent full time role working 35 hours per week and you will be primarily working from our RTRL Support Services in Goonellabah however, from time to time you may be required to work at different locations during your employment. 
The Programs and Engagement Officer will work as part of the Community Engagement Team, supporting the Management Team in delivering dynamic library services tailored to the community. This involves researching, preparing, and facilitating programs and activities that align with community needs and organisational priorities. Additionally, the officer assists branch staff to ensure efficient and effective library services. They will report to the Communications and Engagement Support Librarian and collaborate with other RTRL staff members.

What we trust you to deliver 
  • Possess a sound understanding of public library trends and challenges. Be proficient in IT, including Microsoft applications and library management systems, to enhance program delivery and service efficiency.
  • Provide quality customer service, continuous improvement and collaborative teamwork.
  • Support and foster collaborative community partnerships to develop and encourage engagement with library services and programs. 
  • Utilise strong written communication skills to develop and deliver library programs and services tailored to community needs.

What you'll need to be successful
  • Library Technician Certificate (Diploma of Library and Information Science) or equivalent
  • Experience in information and customer service in a public library.
  • Experience in developing and delivering programs and services to meet community needs.
  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence
