Our client is a FMCG business with a long history in Australia. As a result of their significant growth and expansion they are currently recruiting Quality Assurance officer to join their team
The Objective of Role:
To monitor the management and staff to meet and exceed the requirements of all quality assurance legislation and programmes to deliver quality products to customers on time.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Monitor performance of hygiene, GMP, food safety, and plant standards on a continuous basis and provide corrective feedback where required.
- Verify production output meets product specifications and ensure all QA records are completed and signed off as required.
- Collect and record data according to companies HACCP and Quality System.
- Complete internal QA testing such as PH, Allergen, Titration, Sodium testing, etc.
- Assist with positive release of products by preparing customer Certificate of Conformance (CoC) documents as required.
- Assist with quality audits in a methodical and detailed manner to verify that the companies Food Safety Program is always complied with.
- Ensure internal audit non-conformances are followed up and assist with action plans as required.
- Participate in pre-trial and post-launch Management Review meetings in conjunction with senior management.
- Provide input on allergen management, sanitation, QC sampling, traceability, and approved supplier requirements.
- Verification of supplier’s Food Safety Accreditation in accordance with companies Approved Supplier program
- Document procedures and/or work instructions that ensure production of consistently safe products of desired quality and characteristics in full compliance with companies HACCP Food Safety Plan.
- Assist in the investigation of customer complaints and food safety incidents raised on site, identifying root cause, corrective and preventative actions, and timely closeout.
- Assist in ensuring the Quality Management System conforms to customer expectations, HACCP, FSSC 22000, and other certification.
- This list of responsibilities and accountabilities is not exhaustive. Other tasks and duties may arise in order to continually support and provide assistance to the Quality Assurance Team.
Key measures
- The Quality Assurance System within company runs efficiently, effectively and is updated as required.
- All staff involved in the Quality Assurance programme are assessed and trained so they can effectively and efficiently meet production requirements and the company complies with all relevant Quality Assurance requirements and programs.
- Reports are delivered on time and as required by Senior Management and/or relevant regulatory bodies to ensure company complies with all relevant Quality Assurance requirements and programmes.
Qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience:
- BSc. In Food Technology/science or a relevant degree / qualification
- 2–4 years’ experience in a similar role, within a Food or FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science/ Food Technology or equivalent
- Have a keen and diligent work ethic with good people skills to work within our enthusiastic team.
- Excellent understanding of HACCP systems and ISO standards.
- A pro-active approach to resolving issues and high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office
