Purpose of Position:

Hexagon Mining in partnership with our client will deploy and operate a world-first fleet of 120 fully Autonomous Road Trains to carry ore 150km to the Port. Hexagon Mining have an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join our team full-time in Western Australia on this cutting-edge Autonomous Road Trains project. The appointed individual will be an essential part of the project's success. The primary purpose of the Project Coordinator position, reporting directly to the Program Manager, is to provide crucial administrative and operational support, ensuring the effective execution of projects within the broader program framework. This role serves as a linchpin in the project management process, contributing to the achievement of strategic objectives through meticulous planning, coordination, and adherence to quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Program Manager
  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and coordination of project deliverables in line with the project plan.
  • Monitor project progress and performance.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenses, and cost tracking.
  • Maintain project documentation, records, and filing systems.
  • Prepare and distribute project status reports and updates.
  • Assist with procurement processes and vendor management.
  • Arrange project meetings, prepare agendas, and take meeting minutes.
  • Handle project-related queries and correspondence.
  • General facilities management at our Wangara workshop.
  • Assist with travel bookings and other logistics.
  • Identify and ensure quality assurance procedures are met and followed.
  • Adherence to all company policies (Global and Local).
  • Ad hoc administration tasks as required.

Position Requirements:

  • Project Management/ IT/ Technical / Engineering background
  • Formal Project Management certifications like PMP or PRINCE2

Related Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar position
  • Certified Project Manager or experience of Project Management in a similar industry.
  • Ability to think operationally while linking it to the strategic objective.
  • 2 to 3 years minimum experience - IT/ Mining/ Engineering

Experience/Skills/Attributes:

  • Administrative or project management/ support experience.
  • Exposure to the mining or autonomous operation will be advantageous.
  • Strong software experience, a proven track record dealing with IT system implementations.
  • Commercial experience delivering projects in line with the business strategies.
  • Proven experience delivering projects on time and in budget.
  • Sound knowledge of risk management principles and practices and ways of mitigating those risks to an acceptable level.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and further development of skills
  • Strong sense of urgency, being able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise where necessary.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience working across cultures with teams throughout the world across multiple time zones to deliver a local project.
  • Results driven personality.
