Project Management Office Lead
About the role:
Melbourne & Olympic Parks (M&OP) is seeking a visionary and strategic Project Management Office (PMO) Lead for a 12-month parental leave contract within our Strategy and Transformation team.
M&OP have big plans and exciting challenges over the next few years and this role offers a unique opportunity to drive significant enhancements and improvements in our Strategic Project Office. Reporting directly into our Head of Strategy and working closely with functional leaders across the business, this hands-on role will actively ensure that project outcomes are aligned to organisational strategy, risks are efficiently managed, and that strategic thinking is applied to resolve challenges in project delivery.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced PMO looking for a leadership role to step into across the next 12 months. Providing input and knowledge will be valued and crucial in elevating our PMO at the precinct taking into consideration our existing operational practices, rhythms, and reporting requirements. We look to this role as a key influence in providing our organisation with effective Project Management tools, insightful reporting, and methodologies that encourage continuous improvement.

In this dynamic and collaborative role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Strategically Develop the PMO: Elevate both the operational and strategic facets of the PMO, ensuring alignment with the broader goals of M&OP
- Guide Projects to Success: Take an active advisory role in overseeing projects, focusing on strategic alignment, risk management, and problem-solving to ensure successful delivery
- Promote Best Practices: Integrate and promote advanced Project Management practices, fostering a culture of operational efficiency and continuous improvement within the PMO.
- Empower the Organisation: Equip all business areas with the necessary Project Management tools, processes, and methodologies to maximise overall Project Management effectiveness
What you will bring to the role:
- Experienced Project Management Leader: With a background in Project Management (essential) and strong working knowledge of business analysis and change management processes, you bring a proven track record of leading and managing strategic projects
- Strategic and Analytical Mindset: You are skilled at leading teams through complex projects, applying strategic and analytical thinking to overcome project-related challenges
- Adaptive and Collaborative: Your adaptability and collaborative nature makes you adept at managing various project demands, working seamlessly across departments, and handling diverse stakeholder expectations
- Commitment to Quality and Strategic Alignment: Your focus on detail and quality ensures that all projects are executed to the highest standards, aligning perfectly with M&OP's strategic objectives
