Join the Pacific Blue team to manage and coordinate the end-to-end construction program of works and contract management of a utility scale BESS project in South Australia, to achieve the necessary quality requirements and outcomes expected at Pacific Blue as the owner.
This role is based in the Pacific Blue Melbourne office, will require regular travel to South Australia during the construction phase and will be a fixed term contract position to the Commercial Operations Date for the project, with an estimated timeline of 2 years.
Job description:
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Accountable for the delivery of the assigned renewable energy project within budget, schedule, health, Safety and environmental objectives.
Administer the construction contracts including the processing of progress claims and variations and the resolution of contract issues.
Manage and maintain relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Effectively implement and monitor the project management processes and procedures including: Project management plans; Cost control; Site policies and procedures; Project programs and schedules; Documentation control.
Prepare and present project progress and financial status reports for senior management.
Ensure that the delivery of the project complies with all commercial, legal and health, safety and environmental requirements.
Oversee the management of project documentation control and support activities including people management.
Manage the engineering detailed design phase of the project to ensure specifications, quality and performance requirements are met.
Engage and manage project personnel and consultants.
Oversee the development and utilisation of sound design engineering processes and practices.
Ensure that the Company's compliance obligations are actively maintained, managed and kept up- to-date with particular focus on cyber security and data protection and the compliance obligations allocated to the position title as identified in the Company's Register of Compliance Obligations (as set out in the Compliance Procedure and as amended from time to time).
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
Formal engineering or project management qualifications preferred.
Extensive experience in all aspects site project management at a senior level preferably in a renewable energy business.
Ability to think laterally and analytically through complex issues.
Substantial experience in the management of construction contracts at a senior level.
Proven experience in representing the owner by managing owners' engineers, EPC contractors, NSP's, internal project team and consultants in the end to end delivery of the works and commissioning.
Exposure to and sound knowledge of occupational health, safety and environmental requirements for construction projects.
Experience in project and construction risk assessment processes and the development of risk mitigating strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to sustain positive working relationships with project stakeholders, internal employees and teams, contractors, suppliers, government and community.
Ability to tightly manage and deliver multiple activities of varying priority and difficulty.
