We are looking for an experienced, creative and results driven Project Manager - Property with extensive development experience to project manage and deliver depot construction projects, including electrification of existing and new bus depots, in support of our diverse and growing business.
About the Role
This pivotal role combines the ability to work both autonomously and within a team collaborating with a range of stakeholders. You will be proficient in dealing with Government, Public and Private entities and have the ability to scope and deliver key project objectives.
- Liaise with internal business units to define property needs and communicate them with external consultants, such as architects, town planners and traffic consultants.
- Assess development sites in conjunction with the National Property Manager to ensure they meet defined criteria.
- Coordinate the production of development documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of development applications and manage the subsequent approval process.
- Review and implement contracts in relation to the appointment of external contractors, suppliers and consultants.
- Manage the tendering process and the appointment of sub-contractors.
- Attend and (where appropriate) chair meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate and oversee external contractors and consultants throughout the construction phase to completion and handover.
- Manage make good, defects liability and warranty periods.
- Assist in the transition of businesses into the completed property developments.
- Establish and maintain systems and processes for reporting and records management.
- Ensure appropriate insurances are in place to protect the interests of the business.
- Report on progress, perform analyses, and refine processes post-tender.
About You
The successful applicant must possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the planning, design and construction of industrial property developments.
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management.
- Ability to clearly communicate, expressing requirements and expectations to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience reviewing and understanding property contracts such as Construction, Sub-Contract, Consultant Engagement, Sale and Purchase.
- Strong attention to detail in documenting and delivering property developments with significant monetary value.
- Problem-solving, creative thinker who can develop innovative solutions and approaches.
- Proficient in Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Nitro Pro/Adobe PDF.
- Adept at handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Experience in desktop publishing/layout design is a plus.
Preferred qualifications, skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in other relevant disciplines such as but not limited to construction, engineering, architecture and town planning will be an advantage.
- Qualifications and/or completed coursework in communications and engagement.
- Experience working with Government Departments in tendering, communication and delivering projects.
- Property Valuation methodology.
