Job Description
Rottnest Island Authority regularly undertakes renewal or upgrade projects as well as the development and delivery of new building and infrastructure projects. The Authority is seeking experienced and qualified Project Managers and Project Officers to manage the design development and construction delivery of new build projects, together with a mix of upgrade and renewal initiatives of the existing infrastructure.
The role of Project Officer supports the coordination of the whole of project life cycle, including:
- Supporting the coordination and delivery of building and infrastructure construction projects at optimal value for money and within set timeframes.
- Supporting the planning and maintenance of a wide range of built assets to attain and preserve maximum operational capacity.
- Contributing to the Capital Works Program.
- Managing the initiation, planning, development, procurement, execution and closure of renewal, upgrade and greenfield projects to agreed budgets and timeframes.
- Planning and delivering maintenance of a wide range of built assets to attain and preserve maximum operational capacity.
- Contributing to the Strategic Asset Management Plan and Capital Works Program.

Project Officer (Level 4 or 5)

Essential * Base-level (Level 4) or considerable (Level 5) technical experience in the initiation, planning, design development, procurement, execution and closure of building or infrastructure construction projects.
- Developed (Level 4) or well developed (Level 5) verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to successfully develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Developed (Level 4) or well developed (Level 5) written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, technical and procurement documents.
- High level financial and budget management skills in both an operational and Project environment.
- Well-developed analytical, risk management and problem-solving skills.
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field of engineering, project or construction management.
- Behaviour that reflects Integrity, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

- An understanding of work, health and safety, and equity and diversity principles and practices.
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field of engineering, project or construction management.
