Project Officer - Fixed Term - Full Time
The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years. Two exciting opportunities exists to join the VCAA in the Early Years Unit running until September 2024 and mid 2025.
About the Team
The VCAA Early Years unit has two roles for high performing Project Officers (VPS4) with experience in birth - 3, 3 - 5 or F-2 education settings, to help us build the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) Familiarisation and Support materials until July 2025.
The revised VEYLDF will be released to the public in 2024/5 and our role is to ensure we have all the right supports and artefacts available to the sector to enable them to create high quality teaching environments.
We are designing a new VEYLDF, new support materials, and a new website and we need great talent and expertise to help us ensure it is fit for purpose for the birth to 8 sector.
Sitting within the Early Years Unit you will report to the Team Leader, Early Years Unit, and work in a small collaborative team dedicated to building resources for professional development to support the sector.
We are seeking someone that can also provide the team with insights into Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perspectives, including the goals and actions from the Marrung Aboriginal Education Plan.
About the Role
The role will consist of:
- End to end project management of VEYLDF artefacts including procurement, design and invoice processing.
- Provide the team with insights on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives relating to birth to 8 education settings, including the goals and actions for early childhood arising from the Marrung Aboriginal Education Plan.
- Managing internal and external suppliers and stakeholders and providing project status updates and reports.
- Developing project plans and collaborating with other team members.
- Ongoing strategic planning and evaluation to ensure that the resources and supports that EYU creates are consistent with VCAA's legislated role and strategic objectives and aligned with other relevant activities, as well as contributing to briefing materials to support governance processes and stakeholder consultations.
Role Requirements
Essential: Bachelor's degree in early childhood education and care, adult education or other relevant discipline; and/or Diploma or Advanced Diploma in early childhood education; and/or at least five years experience working in the early childhood sector.
Desirable: This position is open to all suitable candidates. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
