Where you’ll be working The Centre for Population Health (CPH) aims to promote health and prevent morbidity and mortality caused by modifiable risk factors. The CPH portfolio encompasses blood borne viruses, sexual health, tobacco and obesity.
The CPH works closely with service provider organisations such as Local Health Districts (LHDs) to manage and support the local delivery of agreed policies, programs, communications initiatives and services across the state. Programs and services funded by the CPH are delivered in government, non-government, community and clinical settings.
The Social Marketing and Communications Team lead best practice healthy eating and active living consumer communications to increase access to information, programs and services to motivate and support behaviour change. The role of the Social Marketing and Communications team is to:
Deliver integrated, high quality end to end communications, marketing and branding activities through our communication channels, including targeted approaches to reach priority populations
Partner with stakeholders and specialist technical providers to drive digital integration
Ensure all communications are aligned with communications strategies and initiatives delivered by the NSW Government, NSW Ministry of Health and CPH, and meet NSW Government requirements.

About the Role The Project Officer is responsible for managing communications projects related to the delivery of key statewide Social Marketing programs and strategies to support the objectives of the CPH.
The Project Officer:
undertakes and manages all aspects of allocated Social Marketing and communications projects including strategy, delivery, planning, monitoring and reporting; and
contributes to the monitoring and evaluation of Social Marketing activity as required

Selection Criteria
Demonstrated skills and experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of digital and traditional communications.
Proven ability to implement and evaluate campaigns across various communication channels including media, website and social media.
Demonstrated ability to manage and operate the organisations’s official social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Ensure community management best practice and crisis communications management, including contentious issues online.
Demonstrated experience in social media listening, monitoring, insights/reporting and an ability to assist internal stakeholders with their social media requirements and responsibilities.
Demonstrated organisational skills, the capacity to successfully complete several tasks concurrently and to achieve competing deadlines.
Effective verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to prepare complex reports and submissions, which include reporting data.
Ability to work flexibly and effectively across program areas within the Centre for Population Health if required.

COVID-19 Vaccination Compliancy All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
