As a Risk Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to oversee all aspects of risk management for civil construction projects, from conception to completion. Collaborating closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the satisfaction of all parties involved.
This role is long-term opportunity to work with the organisation. This role is an ideal position for anyone with a strong risk background who has worked in the mining and resources industry and is open to working on a FIFO roster.
Accountabilities:
- Identify and lead the resolution of improvement opportunities in WHSE aspects.
- Provide insights on cost, schedule, progress, commercial, and change control for strategic decision-making.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies, conducting regular risk assessments.
- Utilise quantitative analysis and visualization tools to communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and vendors to manage risks associated with the project.
- Conduct third-party/independent project reviews.
- Manage Project Risk registers and provide risk management training to project team members.
- Strong knowledge of risk management principles, standards, and regulations.
- Proven track record of successful risk management and mitigation techniques.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software and relevant tools.
- Construction qualifications (civil/mining) or engineering (civil/mining/geotechnical) preferred.
- Risk management and Project Management related.
- Proven leadership and people management skills in complex environments.
- Previous experience in a risk management role in infrastructure, roads construction, bulk earthworks, or dam projects.
- Long term contract opportunity.
