About the role
As a Promotions & Planning Manager you will deliver a robust weekly go-to-market program aligned to the business’ financial targets. A highly commercial position, the success of the role hinges on the ability to effectively plan cross-functionally, being nimble & reactive and on having the drive to collaborate and be entrepreneurial. This position works closely with the GM Marketing – Promotions & Advertising, Category Campaigns team, Buying teams & vendors, Store teams and the wider Marketing group.
Go-to-Market (GTM) & Sales Planning:
- Leads and facilitates cross-functional GTM & sales planning process
- Drives collaboration and entrepreneurial innovation of the GTM plan
- Manages and communicates advertising space allocations to the buying teams
- Drives promotional innovation & change initiatives
Promotions Execution:
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to drive execution of the promotions plan
- Works closely with the buying teams to ensure promotional plans are followed through and executed to plan
- Ensures plans are executed to budget
Vendor Engagement:
- Work with the buying teams and their vendors to develop marketing activity plans for suppliers
- Ensure plans are in line with category/vendor growth plans and aligned to the broader go-to-market plan
- Oversee the execution of plans to ensure compliance with vendors/buying teams
Reporting
- Report on effectiveness of promotional activity
- Provide weekly reporting on budget forecast and actuals
- Provide regular updates on the forward promotional plan to internal stakeholders
General
- Build strong working relationships with Buying, Marketing, Store Ops & Category Development teams
- Support with ad hoc tasks as required
About you
- Experience in a retail promotions, marketing, buying or planning role
- Experience working in a fast paced, results driven environment
- Tertiary qualification in business or marketing
