Nauru Airlines is the national carrier of the Republic of Nauru, operating passenger and freight services to and from the Central Pacific. Are you a driven and detail-oriented individual with a passion for Aviation? We are currently seeking a dedicated Purchasing Officer to join our CAMO Team. This position will be based near Brisbane Airport and will be directly reporting to the Procurement and Logistics Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for purchasing aircraft parts and materials and managing component repairs.
On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for but are not limited to:
- Direct procurement of aircraft parts and materials from local and international suppliers.
- Rigorously evaluating supplier performance.
- Conscientiously assessing repair costs versus replacement costs.
- Ensuring inventory accuracy through the Part 145 regular stock takes.
- Monitoring stock levels, particularly high-usage items, in response to evolving requirements.
- Monitoring stock levels against Max-Min parameters in light of changing usage patterns.
- Raising purchasing orders and repair orders.
- Tracking open orders.
- Updating purchasing orders with freight tracking details.
- Work with freight companies to ensure effective deliveries.
To Be Successful in This Role:
In addition to being a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, the following qualifications and qualities are crucial:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience within the aviation sector.
- Proven expertise in aircraft parts and materials procurement.
- Competence in utilising business software (Excel, Word, etc.) and operational software packages.
- Familiarity with Alkym maintenance management software is advantageous.
- Eligibility to obtain an ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card).
